This Mach 1 has had the same owner for nearly 30 years. In that time it has been garage stored with only recreational use. Recently the engine was upgraded with a 408 Cubic Inch Stroker making 515 Horse Power. It is backed by a rebuilt Toploader 4 speed with Hurst linkage. The original 9" differential was rebuilt with 3.70 gearing and a Tru Trac limited slip differential.
The engine was re-fitted with Rhodes lifters to calm the idle down and make it more street friendly. It easily powers this Mach 1 around town with excellent manners. When asked the full 515 Horsepower are more than happy to send the car sideways and put a smile on your face. The headers are large tube ceramic units connected to 3" Stainless Steel Magnaflow exhaust. It has a very deep and mellow exhaust note.
The paint is older (1980's) but thanks to being garage stored it still presents nicely. It appears that there is a single repaint of the original Candy Apple Red, the door jam paint appears to be the original Ford paint. The panels line up well, doors close nice & firm and the car is quiet on the road, all pointing to a solid original car.
The interior is still the original. There is obviously wear on the upholstery but for a 50 year old car it is quite impressive and a testament of a life well cared for.
The tires & wheels have very low miles on them and are in excellent condition.
