This is a Matching Numbers 280SE Coupe with a low grille (Flachkühler), only produced in 1970/71, originally delivered in Light Blue Metallic 906G and later changed to Dark Blue Metallic 387H. The paint is in fair condition and does not need replacement. A car that runs and drives well, with an automatic transmission and the shifter on the tunnel, not on the steering wheel.
The leather interior is in fairly good condition, as are the carpets and headliner. Equipped with the original Becker radio. As far as I can see, the body has had no previous damage. Fitted with the correct type of bumpers. The trunk floor corners have been replaced in the past, the main trunk floor, rear intermediate panel, and rear fenders are still original.
The underside could use some attention, not the main floor sections. Areas to consider are the front jack points, front left inner fender reinforcement (called “banana”), and left + right a horizontal section just in front of the rear wheel.
In short, a nice car that needs a bit of bodywork.
