The 71-73 Mustangs have quietly been on the rise for some time. Many factors are at play like smaller production numbers as well as the outrageous prices of the previous year Mustangs. Ford made many changes for '71, but one of the most appreciated is the integral power steering (borgeson style). Steering became much crisper and responsive. They were also available with the largest and most powerful engines of the era, easily out pacing their earlier rivals. These are arguably the best driving Mustangs of the era.
This is a gorgeous example painted nicely in Grabber Blue with Light Argent stripes and hood treatment. Add in the Mach 1 hood and this Convertible is a very classy Muscle Car. The paint is in great condition with a beautiful shine and nice, straight panels. Easily nice enough for weekend shows or a gorgeous sunny day driver.
Inside the car looks great. The white comfort weave seats are very comfortable even in the summer son. The dash features a factory tachometer and the 'center stack gauges'. The carpet, door panels and dash all look great.
Under the hood the 351 runs great. It has excellent torque and powers this convertible around quite nicely. The automatic transmission was just rebuilt and shifts well.
Equipped with Power Steering and Power Front Disc Brakes, this is an excellent driver. Steering is tight and responsive. Braking is crisp, effortless and predictable.
The wheels are factory styled steels that are quite rare. They are wrapped in Cooper Cobra 215 70 14 Radial GT's with excellent tread depth.
